Comments:
This vintage Freeway Bowling Alley pin is in really nice original condition. The cloisonné is complete with no scratches and has nice bright colors. The backside has its original pin. It has not been cleaned and has nice aged brass color.
According to the February 16, 1961 issue of the
Albany Democrat-Herald Newspaper
:
The Freeway Bowl has scheduled its gala grand opening this Sunday afternoon with over 50 prizes being offered in addition to a host of other activities on tap, with open bowling offered every day. Also seen is the subway ball return and "cluster" rack and the electric "telescore" scoring table. At center is a pin's-eye view of one of the 16 alleys, all serviced by automatic pin setters. The bowling lanes also feature a restaurant and a sales and service shop. Outside the building can be found a paved parking area for over 150 autos with more parking area. The Freeway Bowl, Albany's new 0,000 bowling establishment, is modern throughout, featuring the latest In Brunswick bowline equipment and accessories.
This Freeway Bowling Alley pin will make a great addition to either your bowling, vintage Albany, Oregon or sports token collection.
