BRUNSWICK Model 86 Scanner from AS-80 Scoring System In Working Order

$ 39.6

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

These scanners were removed in working condition from a bowling center that closed down in 2018. The special motor on these alone costs over 0, if you can still find one! Most, if not all of these scanners had the motor replaced within the past 10 years, and not a lot of lineage on them. Includes the scanner circuit board. The can-shaped cover shown in the last picture is not included, due to shipping cost, but if you need it, let me know and I will recalculate the shipping.
For those of you wondering what this is: On early Brunswick automatic scoring systems (circa 1979-1990's), this unit was mounted out in front of the pins in the ball return capping between a pair of lanes. After you bowled, this unit would spring to life, "scanning" a focused beam of red light back and forth across the bowling pins on both lanes. Any pins left standing would reflect some of that light back the 'electric eye' on this unit, which also scanned back and forth with the light beam. The electric eye in turn sent small electrical pulses into the computer board on top, which calculated which pins you knocked down, and then sent that information to the scoring console up by the approach area. Newer systems use a TV camera and software to accomplish this action.
Shipping via FedEx Ground in the US is only .00 for first unit, plus .00 for each additional unit.
Units are guaranteed to not be DOA, and may be returned for a refund or exchange within 30 days. Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
