Coors Rosebud Pottery Covered Casserole-Art Deco Style-Utilitarian-1920’s

After November 3, 1914, the state of Colorado voted for liquor prohibition which took effect at the beginning of 1916. The Coors brewing Company of Golden, Colorado realized they would be out of business unless they completely changed their production.  Since the state was rich in clay soils, the ownership decided to embark on the manufacturing of utilitarian ware one of which was the Coors Rosebud line.  This line was produced in water sets, various size plates, cups and saucers, bowls and covered casseroles. It was produced in a number of pastel colors the rarest being white.  This particular covered casserole is one of several sizes produced. It stands 3 3/4” to the top of the lid, and measures 7 1/4” across. Thorough examination reveals no chips, cracks, damage or repairs. Although it has some crazing, it really does not show any discoloration. Very tiny and light scratching is visible on the bottom of the inside of the base from use.  I will mention on the rim of the base and lid visible glaze skips which is a typical issue prevalent of this line of pottery. The finial on the lid is intact and has not been reglued.  Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
